Are you scrubbing away at your tiles and still not seeing them sparkle? Put away the soap and sponge because there is a proper way to clean your tiles without ruining the natural polish. You don’t even have to drive to the supply store to spend money on expensive solutions (not to mention, store bought products are usually not the best kind of cleaning products to use because of the high chemical levels which can shorten the tile’s life span).

By creating these home solutions, you can make your tiles look like they are brand new! Just follow these successfully tested cleaning tips:

  • Warm Water and Vinegar
This may seem like a very odd combination for cleaning but trust us, it works. Vinegar is a great way to get rid of any stains or marks that may be tough to wash off with just soap and water. Once you have wiped the surface of the tile, rinse with cold water to ensure there is no residue left behind. Do not worry about the strong stench from vinegar because the smell dissipates immediately after using it.
  • Baking Soda
Once again, add a little bit of water to baking soda and mix it together to form a soapy/paste solution, then grab a brush. Dip the brush into the paste and begin scrubbing away at all the dirt and muck. Baking soda is more commonly used to clean grout lines because it is a more aggressive cleaning product.
  • Lemon Juice
The acidity in a lemon is just enough to kill away bacteria without damaging your tiles. No mixing is required for this trick. Simply squeeze the lemon juice onto a towel or cloth and gently wipe the surfaces you wish to clean. Make sure you go over it with water since you are using acidic juice.
  • Bleach
Be careful when using bleach because the chemical can be extremely dangerous if not used properly. That being said, pour a few cups of bleach into a bucket of water or into a spray bottle, put it onto your tiles and begin washing. The main benefit of bleach is that it removes mold and mildew which are difficult to clean with regular solutions. The most efficient place to use bleach is on your bathroom tiles. Mold commonly occurs in areas of high moisture, and even though Trini Tiles offers water resistant products, you still want to be safe when it comes to cleaning.

Look forward to spring cleaning this year and follow these tricks to achieve a stunning home all year around.
