Spring is in full bloom which means it is time to get a head start on cleaning. While at home, you can now dedicate time to make every corner in your house sparkle. Let’s start with your wall or floor tiles! Restore your tiles’ natural shine with products that are reliable and safe. Here is a step-by-step guide for getting rid of unwanted dirt and make your tiles look brand new.

Step One:

Consider budget-friendly cleaning supplies that you may already have stored in your cupboards. These natural ingredients are healthier for the environment and your well-being. Products such as, vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, and dish soap all have disinfecting properties that work well on most ceramic and porcelain tiles.

Step Two:

It is important to dilute each liquid with water so it is not too harsh on the tile. In a bowl or spray bottle, mix water with your desired cleaner and test out a small area on your floor or wall before proceeding further. Vinegar has a strong odour, so you may want to add a few drops of lemon juice to counter the smell.

Step Three:

Once you are ready, grab a sponge or mop, or a toothbrush for cleaning tile grout, and start scrubbing at the dirt. Try this once or twice over depending on the results and with a damp cloth, wipe away any residue or cleaning spots to give it a final shine.

Step Four:

Admire a job well done! The satisfaction of living in a clean and bright home environment makes a huge difference in your mental and physical health.

If you installed your tiles a while ago, then you may have noticed a little bit of wear and tear, making them look dull. You want to clean your tiles as often as possible to avoid constant buildup. Even newly installed tiles can catch up to you if not maintained properly, so use this guide to shine and do your best to stay on top of cleaning.
